Movie Review: Ah Long Pte Ltd

My Review: 9 of 10

Finally come again film by Jack Neo, a reputable film director as well as great comedian from Singapore. It was released on W2 March 2008 in Singapore and Malaysia and quickly became a box office on the two countries. Although many viewers seems not to cheer this film, but I can say that this movie is a kind that ‘don’t bother any critics and just watch it’.

Played by Mark Lee and Fann Wong with plot similar to “My Wife is Gangster 3″, sissy man with a gangster wife, almost 2 hours of film packed with full laugh and singlish words. Movie in 5 language: Singlish, Hokkian, Mandarin, and a bit of Cantonese and Malay. I don’t think it will available in Indonesia, so I just luckily enough to watch it on KL Golden Screen Cinema last week.

Ah Long Pte“Ah Long Pte Ltd” is a light-hearted black comedy about the triad world and the money-lending business. Following the retirement of her triad leader (Richard Low), a young lady, Li Hua (Fann Wong), tries to restructure her money-lending triad into a professional and ‘loving’ triad that stands against the use of violence. She also suffers a nagging mother and gets involved in a romance with Mr Fang (Mark Lee), an effeminate dance instructor cum image stylist.

8 Countries, 2 Continents, 22 Days: My Trip was finally over

Direction

Finally I arrived at Jakarta after traveling for 22 days. From Feb 29th to March 22nd, started from Jakarta to Singapore, Shanghai, London, Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam, Mainz, Frankfurt and return back to Shanghai, Singapore, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, and back to Jakarta. It was quite a long journey, involving many cities and transfer. From airport to other airports, from one railway to others. Exhausting? A bit, but it was a great and unforgettable experience since it was my first time to Europe.

The weather in March was still cold, from zero to 12 Celcius, so almost all of my photos were in leather jacket and sweater. Luckily I had a chance to see rain water turned into snow drops although just less in a minute in a freezing cold night.

Here I upload some photos taken using my Sony CyberShot DSC-T1. The camera have been serving for almost 4 years and something, producing 5000+ pics and yet to be replaced. I brought a tripod so I could take picture together with my wife without asking for person’s help. As T1 owners might know, the camera didn’t come with a tripod hole, that means it was not design to work with all tripods. With a bit tweaking (I’ll explain it in later blog), it could be done.

Enjoy my highlight photo. I’ll post more detail trip of each city in next post!
