Hi All,

just to refresh the current discussion above. prepaid card are issued by bank mandiri to cater the "unbank fund" which is around 80% of the total money spread in the market, which is most of it are turning in the micro transaction.

Benefit? there is a lot of benefit you can get by using prepaid card for your daily micro transaction, just like @didit said. here are some benefit by using prepaid card:
1. less effort in managing cash
2. increase accountability in micro payment expenses
3. risk minimizing in small amount of changes in purchase
4. reduce the transaction time in a toll gate (approx 3 seconds)
5. participate in promotion period
6. etc

Hi,

In democracy era, I have to disagree with both of you. Of course e-toll is still new and it is unfair to expect too much from such a program. However, if many people start to use it, then the mass will be good enough to attract other merchants such as Pertamina SPBU, busway, convenience store, starbucks (one of my favourite), and many more. By then, this become convenient card rather than just electronic toll payment alternative.

So, guys why dont we support them in order to become another kind of ez-link card in Singapore or the same convenient card in Hong Kong. Btw, Im not working for government body neither bank mandiri.

of course you are welcome to disagree with me. In just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

I agree with you. No real benefit for us. Although we use eTollcard and cars in front of us not use cards, we still have to wait and queue at the gate.

Except they can allocate dedicated gates that only accept card instead of money, this will be relieving and efficient.

@Claudina, Why do we have to use these cards anyway?
There is no benefit, whatsoever. Plus you have to pay money upfront, giving the bank a chance at your money.
Previously, there was the karcis langganan, there was discount. And now? It's all bull! Another way of draining money from consumers

@Claudina, Well it might has something to do with branding; Mandiri e-Toll Card and Pertamina Gaz Card. Although it is very easy technically to combine these two cards, I believe their agreement stated otherwise, or may be it will someday.

That's why in my opinion, there should be an organization to issue this universal card that can be accepted anywhere. No banking affiliation. Just see how ez-Link, Oyster, and Octopus cards perform in overseas.

Another prepaid card I know is Transjakarta multitrip card. Similar to one-trip card but it stores card balance in the card or in the system. This card is not common used but I've ever seen it.

Hi, I'm doing a research on pre-paid card in Indonesia. The Mandiri Customer Service told me that E-toll can only be used to pay toll. If they aim to use the card to by fuel, why don't they combine it with their product: Gazz card ya?

Apart from those and Flazz card, do you aware of any other pre-paid card that is issued in Indonesia?
