Lego City at Senayan: The biggest in Asia

Took my chance to Senayan City Shopping Mall yesterday (Dec 9), there were exhibition from Lego that claimed the biggest constructed Lego City in Asia, well I might be believe the claim. See my taken pics. There were also Lego-constructed Darth Vader in Lego Star War edition. I estimated it was 10 by 10 metres size lego complex not to mention how many bricks to build this city. Some of the bricks were constructed by school children.

There were 8 tall towers built by bricks, long train rail, memorial site, a lot of vessels, airport plus aircrafts, and hundreds of Lego characters. Most of the building were built with Lego City Box (see Lego Oficial Site), I think it is more fun than playing SimCity 4000 right?

Don't envy lorr since it was the exhibition last day. If you miss the chance, how bout build one in your home?

Bak Kut Teh in Malaysia

Searching for best bak kut teh (BKT) is not easy across Malaysia. Also it is very subjective so recommendation from others may or may not be accepted. Forget to post this one during my visit to Singapore Malaysia last July.

Okay, so far I love Bak Kut Teh at Melaka …

My Journey

A Trip to Papua New Guinea

I had implementation project in PNG on early July, then I started to pack things for this. Visa Request has been approved (Rp 1,500,000 for this stamp), and Jakarta to PNG tickets have been issued. Do you know the ticket price? USD 1600 for CGK-SIN-POM-LAE and trip back again.

Flight from Singapore to Port Moresby took 6 hours and 30 minutes. It was a night flight and I thought I could sleep well in the plane but apparently I couldn't. Sitting in economy class was exhausting, legs couldn't move freely and sadly I sat on the middle. So my advise is you should ask for aisle for long flight. Just slept intermittently every 1 hour because the flight attendances offered meals and drink and blanket. The interesting thing was we were shown flight animation including speed and altitude. Finally I knew that my plane flew at 860 km/h at 10000 m altitude and outside temperature is -40 celcius degrees. That's way the cabin pressure and humidity must be maintained.
Arriving in Port Moresby International Airport, I thought it was near the harbour city, but by reading the map I knew that I had landed 7 miles outside city. Still have to wait for 6 hours before next flight.. really boring waiting in departure lounge.

Inside the plane, packed with most of local people (and interestingly wore sandals), 45 minutes flight was not to long compared to my previous flight. Finally arrived at airport without automatic running rubber for baggage. All stuffs just threw from truck to arrival area. Lae/Nadzab International Airport is 30 minutes away from city center.

Escape to Paradise Island

Last week I went to Bali for holiday. Actually I took my annual leave with thanks to Air Asia, which only costed me Rp 180,000 round trip (very cheap huh?). Together with Yulia we spend four days three nights there.

The first impression of Bali is its main road all well built, high quality asphalt that make cars move smoothly. The quality of the road is far better than Jakarta's. Next is you can find polution is very low, with exception in Kuta. And since 93% of population is Hinduism, then you can hardly find a mosque there. Wherever we walked we saw Pura in every corner. Walking was also a pleasure in Bali, especially in Kuta, because pedestrian walk had been built and well designed although not to wide.

My Journey

Paris Van Java

I went to Bandung on the weekend. Taking usual trip and destination: eating at Bumbu Desa and Rumah Mode Factory Outlet.

Bumbu desa is worth mentioning because of its great taste of Sundas food-style. It is located at Pasir Kaliki, 5 minutes walk from Mal PasKal. I can say that this is the best restaurant for those who love Sunda's meal, from fried chicken to gepuk to tempe bacem. And don't forget to apply its chilli since it is very hot. The Gepuk is very sweet and tender, just put some chillies and get ready to sweating.
