3G Internet with AXIS GSM

Today Axis launches new Internet package bundled with free 3G modem.

Axis 3G sells this package for IDR 1.388.000, and you'll get:

1. 3G Modem Huawei E160G
2. 500 MB Internet quota per month, for 12 months
3. MicroSD card 1GB inserted into the Huawei E160 (so it can act as USB Flash disk)

Quite cheap bargain for Indonesia! This adds into our option for Cheap Internet service as I wrote in my previous post.

The speed they offer for this Axis Internet package is average: 386kbps. Not so 3G.

Sadly, Axis GSM coverage area is still very limited. Available only in Jabodetabek, most area of Pantura Jawa, Surabaya, Riau, Medan area, and Bali.

Meanwhile retail rate for GPRS/3G access, Axis charges IDR 0.7/KB.
