Hongkong by Tram

Tarifnya hanya HKD 3 (as 2023) tidak melihat jarak.

Jakarta to Bandung by Train

May be we get used to taking car to everywhere so we forget that we have reliable train network in Java. This time JavaMilk wants to have a little adventure by not taking car as usual to Bandung.

Online Booking train ticket to Bandung

To secure your seat, it is advisable to reserve and buy in advance, especially during long weekend or peak period. Online booking is available or you can check route and schedule using PT KAI Website. The easiest way to book online, then pay by credit card. Optinal way is to call 121 (021-121 from mobile), then pay using ATM machine (Mandiri, etc) or pay at convenient stores nationwide. Make sure always to book 'executive class' coach to get comfort during journey, it is seat compulsory coach, equipped with air-con, reclining seat with LCD TV for short entertainment.

Jakarta - Bandung (vv) route is served by Argo Parahyangan train, schedule run about 8 times a day. One journey will take 3 hour 33 minutes with some stop (from Gambir - Jatinegara - Bekasi - Bandung).

Visiting Ancient Gajah Mada Plaza

One of the happening place in Jakarta during 1980s is Gajah Mada Plaza. Traveling to Jakarta without visiting it would be shameful to tell your relatives. It was big and well-known at that time, 7 storeys, many stores, and not to forget the famous Rimo Department Store. Visiting this place during my childhood would take 2-3 hours completed with meal at Kentucky Fried Chicken or MacD.

[

Those golden ages had gone. New shopping malls with much bigger space spring in Jakarta, and people's changed too. Although located at Central Jakarta, it is not the main spot of gathering place anymore. Rimo has closed its business, now replaced with Matahari Dept Store, what left is MacD (now Tony Jack), Optik Seis, and the 'as always' GM 21 Cineplex.

8 Countries, 2 Continents, 22 Days: My Trip was finally over

Direction

Finally I arrived at Jakarta after traveling for 22 days. From Feb 29th to March 22nd, started from Jakarta to Singapore, Shanghai, London, Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam, Mainz, Frankfurt and return back to Shanghai, Singapore, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, and back to Jakarta. It was quite a long journey, involving many cities and transfer. From airport to other airports, from one railway to others. Exhausting? A bit, but it was a great and unforgettable experience since it was my first time to Europe.

The weather in March was still cold, from zero to 12 Celcius, so almost all of my photos were in leather jacket and sweater. Luckily I had a chance to see rain water turned into snow drops although just less in a minute in a freezing cold night.

Here I upload some photos taken using my Sony CyberShot DSC-T1. The camera have been serving for almost 4 years and something, producing 5000+ pics and yet to be replaced. I brought a tripod so I could take picture together with my wife without asking for person's help. As T1 owners might know, the camera didn't come with a tripod hole, that means it was not design to work with all tripods. With a bit tweaking (I'll explain it in later blog), it could be done.

Enjoy my highlight photo. I'll post more detail trip of each city in next post!

Being Streetwalker

Walking in Jakarta sometimes has some fun and joy. As my recent work at Jakarta Ring 1 Area, near Monas, I have been enjoying its well-built pedestrian. Park my car at IRTI (Monas Car Park), then have to cross Medan Merdeka Selatan. You have to park your car at IRTI …
